You oughta be in pictures

Here is "The Death of Marat" by Anna Magdalena, starring my old hairdo. Not specifically intended as an homage to the Britney Spears music video in which she offs in herself in the hotel bath tub, though there are a few dazzling similarities . But then, aren't we all grabbing from the collective unconscious, that "reservoir of the experiences of our species," as Jung put it?

Family Portrait

I spent the evening watching The Munsters projected onto the wall of my apartment. It reminded me of the time my dear old sister-in-arms, Mr T.Culbertson, suggested that I play all the characters myself, being that I am; "A little bit sexy Vampiress, and a little bit Frankenstein, a little bit freaky Grandpa, and a little bit wolf child." Literally couldn't agree more, and if there ever is a big screen remake, a smart producer could save a lot of money in having me in each role.

Here and There

An Illustrated History of Longing has proven to be a success, in that it is fully booked for all five performances. This means that I get to spend my evenings in an underground bar with nothing to worry about besides my entrance and exit cues, which btw I forget every night. On the upside I am now making out with seventy-percent of the cast and hope to have engulfed them all in a mid-performance smooch before the run is over.

In other news, miss this at your peril.

Come for the paper dress, stay for the spray paint.

Well, that's an excellent idea! I shall in fact perform my hit show I Happen To Like New York again! Two performances at Bistrotheque on June 4th and 11th, ahead of three, count 'em, three festival appearances this summer. Book here and see you there.

Akif Hakan

I was lucky enough to be captured on film recently by an especially talented photographer, giving some Bowie/Crawford hybrid realness. Nice, no?
